We decided to do a long road trip to the natural beauties around us. Being so close to all those national parks, it would have been tragic to not visit them!
Our expedition would cover Moab, the Arches, the Grand Canyon, the Four Corners, Mesa Verde and Durango!… all in six days with three children under five. It was quite the adventure.
The Arches, near Moab, UT. Breathtaking views.
Eleven years ago, Ben and I hiked to Delicate Arch while still in college. (2003)
Fast forward to marriage, three children and eleven years later at the same spot!It was an incredible, steep, one-mile hike. I can’t believe our then-four year old hiked all the way up! Can you spot the lizard Shiloh is conversing with? Top: Ben took this picture of me (2003)
On to the next destination: the Grand Canyon!Grand Canyon! It was incredibly windy, and we were warned to stay away from the edge. We met up with Ben’s sister, Ann and her family! We celebrated Shiloh’s 5th birthday in the Grand Canyon! Can you spot Ben and the kids? (I made it easy for you by cropping the picture…) Pool side at the hotel! On the road again. Four Corners.
Amazing, stunning, rich in history. Mesa Verde. The Anasazi inhabited Mesa Verde between 600 and 1300. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesa_Verde_National_Park We got to climb underground in this amazing palace. Our little archaeologist. One of the several palaces. Isn’t it breathtaking! What would be a trip without a selfie! The kids hard at work.Durango. Amazing San Juan National Forest sights! Mineral County. My vision of Colorado.
